...no-hitter or perfect game? At least in the majors. COnsidering all that he has done (possibly with the help of steroids), does anyone else find this surprising?
 
a little for the no hitter. but i dont know if he ever had a good defensive team or was on the team with all the good bats. people with the best hitters tend to have the best pitchers. what i mean is, its easier for the pitchers because all the bifg names are on their team
 
No. Hey, Carlton never threw one, either. (Hint: a perfect game IS a no-hitter.)

Clemens' control of the strike zone was too good. He was never "effectively wild", get hitters regularly swinging at out-of-the-zone crap. He blew them away with good pitches, and when you're always around the strike zone, sometimes the ball hits the bat no matter what and a hit or two drops in.
