...Christianity, but not Judaism? Come on, let's hear some of your best critiques of Judaism. Be just as relentless to the Jews as you are to the Christians.

Or are you too cowardly...?
 
I don't think there is any more foundation for the supernatural god beliefs but I have never had a Jew pressure me to become Jewish. I've never heard of them forming organizations to ban contraception for all of us including those of us who don't share their beliefs. I haven't heard of them trying to get memorization of the Torah introduced as a mandatory subject in public schools. I don't tend to tell Christians I find their beliefs wacky until they attempt to get others to share them or impose them on society at large in some way.

jews do not constantly condemn atheists to hell on an hourly basis.
 
Jews as a whole don't try to force their religion down on us. Christians, however...

I'm not spiteful for the sake of it.
 
Why would we want to do that when we always get a better reaction out of christians. Bloody whining christians
 
The old testament does not follow the Jewish beliefs. The bible was created in the dark ages using a dark ages mind set. The language of the OT material is in an abstract language totally alien to the dark ages and modern mindset. If you read it with an alien mind set to its original authors it is a recipe for misunderstanding.

Christianity is a totally fake religion, it is Mithra Christos wearing a new name.

I don't mock Judaism because I've never had a Jew try and shove their religion down my throat. They realize I am not Jewish, and let me be, just as I realize they are Jewish, and let them be.

While I think the concept is as silly as Christianity, I'm not going to mock them if they don't go out of they're way to try and prove to everyone in the world that what they believe is right.

Purpose doesn't set up a line that distinguishes right and wrong. culture does. Without a culture, it is impossible to say what is right and what is wrong. While both culture and religion were created by people, culture =/= religion.
 
I have often been told that terrible things are going to happen to me if I don't become a Christian or a Muslim.

However, I have never, ever heard even one person telling me that terrible things are going to happen to me if I don't become a Jew.

In which light, I don't think it is hypocritical in the first place to bash Christians. Nor Muslims, for that matter.
 
Some forms of Judaism are atheism, and in such cases would be self defeating.

Besides that, there are plenty of people that have animosity towards Jews, both atheists and non.
 
Because Jews are not allowed to preach there religion, and to answer your question they are all ex Christians, well most of them, very rarely do they criticize religion as a whole.
 
A lot of the atheists here were raised Christian, so they have some deep-seated resentment of that particular religion. That said, if they're going to make fun of religions, they should do so equally, which they don't here in R&S.
 
I think that mostly has to do with the fact that christians are the most outspoken theists on R&S. Just an observation....
 
But, Jews are not even trying to convert us!

Why would we bother them, if they live and let live?
 
Most Jewish people already realize their religion is historical, not holy fact.

Whereas church folks are as fervent as ever, denying reality and cramming weird stuff into their kids.

Atheist mocking is hypocritical in itself as they have no basis to distinguish right from wrong. Any attempt to have them use logic to prove they are right is an attempt to get them to actually have an intelligent conversation about what they believe which, of course, they are totally clueless.

While it is futile without the leadership of the HS, there is no reason to allow them to only take potshots at the truth while not having to defend their own beliefs. Here is how to get them to think about their hypocrisy.

Atheist means that there can't be a Creator. It is therefore, an admission that there was not intelligent thought to our creation.

Therefore, we have no reason to live and have no purpose. Without a purpose, it is impossible to say what is right and wrong.

Simple....but they don't get it.

Dude, you really need to go to a Holocaust museum sometime or ask when was the last time the children of Israel remember the God of Israel do anything on their behalf. Check out Rabbinic Jewish history from then to the present.
 
Like somebody already said Jewish people never try to convert, it's not how their religion works and they don't believe everyone has to be Jewish. They believe their way is just one way out of many.

People get annoyed when Christians try to convert them. Also Christianity has so many scare tactics etc which are used even on children so many non Christians want to expose the lies about "hell" etc so kids are not scarred for life. I don't like how Islam also has scare tactics.

I want people to realise there is no hell etc and that they don't have to have irrational fears about death!

people don't criticise Buddhism either cause again they never try to convert and they don't have scare tactics.
