Does anyone have any Coyote hunting tips?

I have a coyote problem at my house and i need to start hunting them because my dog got into a fight with one and could of got killed. they are a pest and i need to get rid of them. any suggestions
well the dog who got into the fight prob weights 30 pounds and she is part boxer and i think she put up a good fight cuz she only got bit on her back leg so she was bobbin an weavin around it i think. and i got a male black lab who is pretty beefy but he has tendon problems in his back legs so he cant really run to protect her. but i know they are scared of him cuz has chased them away before. i got a .22 and a 16 gauge shotgun with a long barrel. what shot would work best or should i just be brutal and use a slug?
well i got the ruger 10/22 and i can convert it to a .17 mach 2 would the be good for coyotes or should i just drop them with the 16g slug?

At short range, the 22 lr will do. I would get some quality high velocity rounds, and bait them with meat. If you are patient enough, you will shoot them. Don't be surprised if the 22 does not kill them on the spot, but if you hit them, they will die.

If you can afford 200 bucks, an H&R Handi rifle will work best. Its a single shot rifle. They are sturdy guns, and cost little. I would get it in .243, .223. or 22 mag. I prefer that order. I use a .243 with a 55 grain bullet, and it kills coy dogs in their tracks. If cost of ammo or the scope is an issue, a 22 mag with open sights will have enough energy to punch through the pest no prob. I like the .243, because they can be shot 300 meters away with little adjustment for bullet drop.

If you have a 16 g and can still afford shells for it , then you should know how to hud a cote! Thumbs down to your question!!!

Use a .243 to get rid of them.If you only have a .22 use that.But you should think about the 16 gauge because the coyote might not die with the .22. I may not feel remorse for taking the life of a animal(especially when biting someones dog)but I don't like to see it suffer.

I don't know about what calls to use, but I'd bet if you put out some raw chicken as bait and sat with a good rifle you could get a few of them
