Does anyone have ideas for teaching about the outdoors?

I have to teach a class to very young girls about the outdoors, we either have to do it out by the playground or in the classroom.
 
read them "going on a bear hunt"- can be used to describe scenery. Can also be acted outside.
 
You can see if there are any animal sanctuaries, wild life preserves or bug keepers who will come in for a demonstration. You can go for a wild life hunt on the playground. You can bring in books to help teach about dangerous plants and animals. You can do a class project of having students bring in things from their yards, or see if they can go for hikes and take pictures, or something that they can bring in to show and tell. You could even challenge them to learn something about the thing, and have them talk about it to the class. This is a fun assignment, can I come in?
