Does anyone know how to get rid of snails in a freshwater aquarium?

HELP! My tank is over come with snails! I bought "Had a snail" and treated my tank, did a water change, treated it again, and I still have snails. I tried the lettuce at night thing and not one snail was on the lettuce in the morning. Please give me some suggestions.
