Does anyone think Roger Federer will win a major this year?

He lost in a 5 set match to Andy Murray in the semi-finals of the Australian Open. Which in my opinion was a lot closer than some are saying. But okay, Murray had the upper hand. Anyway, I was looking at bet365 and Andy Murray is 3rd favourite to win Roland Garros and Federer is fourth? How can someone who's never reached a clay court final be a favourite over someone who's been to 5 finals and winning 1?

I think he will, he still is the king of grass even though he lost to Murray in the Olympics on grass. So i think he can pull off Wimbledon this year. Murray has been having an outstanding season and Roger only has one French even though we all know the reason is because of Nadal, so that is probably their reasoning. but i agree with you i would favor Roger over Murray for the French.

Federer seems to be on an irreversible decline , his best days are behind him. I believe that his footwork has slowed down, his shot selection isnt as good during long matches he plays too many loose points and too many bad games. He has lapses of concentration that cost him in big matches against the top ranked players. With Djokovic and Murray in the peak of their careers and Nadal returning Federers chances of winning more majors are slim, will he win one this year unlikely but maybe at Wimbledon but he needs the stars to align if he is to win a major this year. Why is Murray a favorite over Federer to win French open well that is because Murray has reached 3 straight Major finals and is in the prime of his career where as Federer seems to be on the way down.

it's not guaranteed but i think he can win one this year, probably wimbledon or us open. i would say wimbledon is his best chance.

i think his best days are over(as he's already 33 years-old and now there are some players that can easily beat him like Djokovic, Murray etc), but he still plays quite well, so i am not sure.
