Does bread crust have any more nutritional value than the middle of the bread?

As a child, I'm sure your parents told you, "Eat up your crust! It'll make you strong like your dad," or something similar.

Was that just a trick to make us eat our crust, or is there some truth to bread crust being healthy for us?
 
Its all the same. The crust part is just darker where it was more directly exposed to heat when cooking.
 
bread is bread.. whether its the crust or the middle.

just a trick. every parent is guilty of tryin to pull that one over on their kids.
