Does humour only come from somebody's suffering pain or embarresment?

I was thinking about this, and things we genuinely laugh at it day to day life like somebody tripping over, or somebody making fun of someone on a tv show or someone making a fool out of themselves.
All i could think of that's funny that doesn't hurt people is when the person is laughing at themselves and somebody laughs with them, but it seems to me to still be laughing at their idiocracy or something.
Thank you.

It all depends on the person and their sense of humor. Some people find " dead baby" jokes funny and others find that to be in "bad" taste. Others laugh at the misfortunes of people because it's clearly not happening to them. I don't really find it funny when someone falls or things don't turn out all the great for them. I feel sorry for them instead of finding it hilarious, but that's just me and not everyone thinks this way obviously.
I think it also depends on our stage in life. When we are younger we might have found certain things to be funny (someone falling), but as we get older we realize it was immature etc.
Although not everyone "grows" out of it. If you fell down or something of the likes... I won't laugh at you... unless you fell into some fat guys lap and when you looked back he smiled at you xD lol
No, wait I'm sorry that was horrible

One more thing, sometimes one has had a day in were nothing has gone "right" and you feel stressed out etc., and then something happens to someone else and you may laugh at of the sheer craziness of the day.

Humor comes from an unexpected twist or surprise. For most, this is word play or another type of discontinuity. For some, it is slapstick. I do not find it funny at all when someone trips, falls, or makes a fool of themselves, even though that is usually unexpected.

Yes this is true, people find humor and the like in other peoples failed actions or other things but that has been happening since the dawn of man.

The Arena- The roman Colosseum is a premium example of entertainment out of the suffering of others.

It is nothing new.

I think it has something to do with the need to dominate or be superior to another person, so when a person fouls up its like we didn't have to do anything to be superior to them they did it for us.

And that is funny.

I do not laugh at others misfortune , or when someone gets insulted.

I laugh when I see children laughing and smiling , or being happy. Almost anyone laughing really for the just reasons.
I laugh when I feel good , happy.
