If your partner was not fond of your music choice and vice versa, is it something you wouldn't be able to handle long term? Have you had a relationship like this? How'd it turn out? 
My bf is into post punk (joy division, clash, etc) while im into 80's and 90's hiphop and r&b. We dont hate each others preference, but its not something we would actually love either. Yet were almost 3 years strong lol
