Does Paley only ever try to argue the existence of a creator, not the Christian God?

When he talks - I believe - of the argument from design, is he trying to advocate the idea of the Judaeo-Christian God of the Bible, or merely that there is a divine being who created the Earth, not necesarily any God in particular? Hopefully, someone can clear me up on that.

For the love of all that isn't holy, will someone PLEASE answer the question. I'm getting people attacking Paley, giving me stupid poems, asking who Paley is, and in general doing anything but attempting to answer the question.
