Does prophecies actually prove the bible is from god?

If fulfilled prophecies prove the Bible, than fulfilled prophecies of other religions must be true too, right? According to you that is.

Yes.
All time is given, Matt.24:3,21-24, 36, God alone knows
the day and hour as time can be cut short by God.
Year 3460 is real time and prophecy time that has come to
pass when Judah kings end at Babylon [ 606 BCE, now at
2010 CE], that was 2616 years ago.
Dan.8:12-14, gives 2300 years to God's word in world.
Dan.12:1-7; 7:25; 2500 years to Michael and God's word.
Dan.12:1-10; 4:32; 2520 years to Satan's short time in the
time of the end with Michael Dan.12:1-13; Rev.12:7-12;
Rev.9:1-5[5x 30 = ] 150, the pit is open for Satan, God's
sealed are there. Rev.11:1-3[2x 1260 = ] 2520 + 1260 man
days, Rev.13:5[42 months x 30 days each is 1260 days].
Dan.12:1-11[2x 1290 = ] 2580 years, 60 years after 2520th
year.
Dan.12:1-12[2x 1335 = ] 2670 years less 2520th year, 150
years, Rev.17:5,6,10-14, Satan down all of the 8th that is
of the 7(Jesus and John were in Rome #6 and the temple
was there to 70 CE]. The pit is still open for Satan, Rev.20:
1-6, to no Satan Rev.20:7-10, all is made new Rev.21:1-5.

Fulfilled prophecies provide strong support for the divine authorship of the Bible.

Chapter Five
The Fulfilled Prophecies of the Bible Bespeak the Omniscience of its Author

In Isaiah 41:21-23 we have what is probably the most remarkable challenge to be found in the Bible. "Produce your cause, saith the Lord; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob. Let them bring them forth, and show us what shall happen; let them show the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come. Show the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods." This Scripture has both a negative and a positive value: negatively it suggests an infallible criterion by which we may test the claims of religious impostors; positively, it calls attention to an unanswerable argument for the truthfulness of God's Word. Jehovah bids the prophets of false faiths to successfully predict events lying in the far distant future and their success or failure will show whether or not they are gods or merely pretenders and deceivers. On the other hand, the demonstrated fact that God alone grasps the ages and in His Word declares the end from the beginning, shows that he is God and that Scriptures are His Inspired Revelation to mankind.

Again and again men have attempted to predict future events but always with the most disastrous failure, the anticipations of the most far-seeing and the precautions of the wisest are mocked repeatedly by the bitter irony of events. Man stands before an impenetrable wall of darkness, he is unable to foresee the events of even the next hour. None knows what a day may bring forth. To the finite mind the future is filled with unknown possibilities. How then can we explain the hundreds of detailed prophecies in the Scriptures which have been literally fulfilled to the letter, hundreds of years after they were uttered? How can we account for the fact that the Bible successfully foretold hundreds, and in some instances thousands of years beforehand, the History of the Jews, the Course of the Gentiles, and the Experiences of the Church? The most conservative of critics, and the most daring assailants of God's Word are compelled to acknowledge that all the Books of the Old Testament were written hundreds of years before the incarnation of our Lord, hence, the actual and accurate fulfillment of these prophecies can only be explained on the hypothesis that "Prophecy came not at any time by the will of men: but holy men of God, spake, moved by the Holy Ghost."

What I can say is that prophecies have come true that are in the Bible and non have been contradicted to date. I COULD say that that proves the bible true but I recommend that you read the bible for yourself, and try out the principles contained within. Try God and see if he doesn't come through for you. I believe only a good mix of faith and personal experience can prove to someone that the bible is Truth. I'm not one of those persons that say science and faith cannot mix. They all point to the same truth.

So do prophecies prove the bible is from God? Yes, but it's usually not enough to convert someone to a believer. The best way to prove the bible is from God is to prove that God is in the bible. There is a scripture in the Bible that in short says, Prove me, and that's from God himself. He doesn't want you to experience him through other men's stories. You need personal experience. Only then can the bible be genuinely proved for you.

Only if one believes in the God spoken of in the Bible and that's only SOME things in the Bible.
There's not much in the Bible that it reads that that God actually said it and did He say it to the writers or to others and they passed the story(ies) to the writers?
Not all of the prophecies were from that God speaking to a particular prophet; some were dreams, visions, predictions and forecasts.

NO!

But, fulfilled prophecies prove it!

The Bible contains hundreds of prophecies which have actually come to pass!

Go in peace.

And, always remember: -- Jesus loves you!!

Sincerely,
Uncle Floyd

JESUS IS LORD!!

Nothing PROVES anything. The need for spiritual connection and faith (not seeing it but can be a 'knowing') are always involved.

But, we are here, you are you, look in the mirror, that's YOU. You exist, and the reality you are living in with all of your hopes and dreams and etc. make you.

I've noticed something personally about the Bible and the God of the Bible...it always comes back down to faith. The God of this Bible wants it that way.

No, many of them have not happened while others are so vague and general that nearly anything could be considered as fulfilling them and yet none of them have predicted anything significant (without being extremely vague and very open to interpretation)

Edit:
Case in point:
Isa 52:15 ...the kings shall shut their mouths at him... can not refer to Senators or Congressmen. They are not kings, nor are they royalty, nor should they be considered such by anyone. Further, if this was meant to refer to the Senate and Congress, then it could have been more specific as in "a governing body composed of two from every region" or something similar.

Christians believe that the Bible is "God-breathed," that is inspired by God. Some writers were dictated to, others were inspired. The Bible is a collection of books or writings of different authors. Some are narratives, some are poetry, some are prophesies. The way I believe, the prophesies don't really prove that the Bible is from God (although the prophesies are from God), but the fulfillment of the prophesies point to the fact that there is God.

I hope that makes sense.
