does self-time exist when going on a vacation with a significant other?

When you go on a long vacation with your significant other, do you spend all your time with him (or her) or do you also take time out for just yourself?

Im going on my first long vacation with my BF in a couple of weeks and I was wondering if I could expect some me time for some things I know he wont enjoy doing (like photography) or is that selfish?

(granted I should probably ask him, but I want to insure myself before I come off sounding selfish)

I'm sure he'd understand if you want some time to yourself, he'll probably feel the same way. It's not selfish, being together 24/7 can be a little much, even if you love the person. I'd just make sure you both have your cell phones on hand in case of an emergency.

Ask him, but it's perfectly reasonable to assume you'll have some alone time. Forcing yourself to spend every waking minute with your S.O. just makes you both stressed out. No matter how much you love your S.O, or where you are, you need time to yourself, too.

Definitely talk to him about it!

Can you help me with mine?
