Does Susan (or any variations) sound like the name of a woman you'd meet at...

...Harvard (does it sound smart)? Sue, Susan, Susie, Susanna, etc.

Last name is Rochester.
I want to name her a name that will sound respectable if she wants to have a powerful job, particularly one that is male dominated where if she had a name like Ellie people would just see her as t&a. A smart sounding name that has potential for cute nicknames would be good, I think. Is Susan that name? I don't know... I need help. :)

Susan is a very classic, traditional name. It is really a name that fits any kind of person: smart or dumb; adventurous or lazy; kind or rude; etc.

I wouldnt be surprised if a Susan went to Harvard, but I also wouldnt be surprised if a Susan was working at the 7-11 and was supporting two kids before she was 21...

to ..................: Prodigal is not the word you are looking for. Prodigal means someone who spends money/resources recklessly, someone who is wasteful..... You're thinking of is prodigy... and I dont know very many people who would turn down a prodigy..... Nor are prodigies formed through excessive smothering (as you seem to think).. they're formed through natural talent and determination. It's not something you can just force on someone. That's why they're so rare and looked upon highly.

Hello,

I like the name Susan, but I don't care for Sue. Susan can sound like someone who goes to Harvard, but Sue can be a waitress at the local truckstop as well....so it can go either way......

Here are some names that I feel would work in a powerful job:

Catherine
Claire
Paige
Alexander (Alex)
Samantha (Sam)
Abigail
Julia
