I just got my first smartphone from T-Mobile and was wondering if I use my home wifi am I still being charged for using the internet on my phone. I know that if I was using their network connection than I'm being charged, but if I'm using my home internet instead shouldn't it be free since it's not with T-Mobile? or something like that? I appreciate the time you've taken to read this.

With Wi-Fi, you have unlimited internet and you will not be charge by your cell phone company, T-Mobile. You can connect Wi-Fi at home or use it at any Wi-Fi hotspots (such as Mcdonalds, starbucks, barnes and nobile or others). Just remember you need to make sure you connect through Wi-Fi on your cell phone otherwise you will use the data internet plan on your cell phone.

I have tmobile with a blackberry pearl and when I have turned on the wifi and connected to internet, it tells me there will be a charge do I want to continue. I can't believe they can charge to use your own internet but I guess since they can - they do...

T mobile has started charging me data when I use skype through my home wifi. Beware.
