The Book of Hebrews chapter 8, verse 4 of the Kings James Bible (a supposedly reliable version) has: "For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest..." Who's "he" that the Bible is refering to? If "he" is Jesus Christ, then why does the Bible has it that he shouldn't be a priest? Does that mean that he, if he's supposedly Jesus Christ, isn't qualified to preach? I checked what a priest is in an online dictionary, and priest is one authorized to perform the sacred rites of a religion especially as a mediatory agent between humans and God. Isn't this what Jesus Christ supposed to have done? If so, then why's the Bible has it that he shouldn't be a priest? Does that mean that the Bible is contrary? Also, '...if he were on earth..."--why's "were" there"? Does the Bible has it that Jesus Christ never did come to earth as he supposedly have?
