The Book of Hebrews chapter 8, verse 4 of the Kings James Bible (a supposedly reliable version) has: "For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest..." Who's "he" that the Bible is refering to? If "he" is Jesus Christ, then why does the Bible has it that he shouldn't be a priest? Does that mean that he, if he's supposedly Jesus Christ, isn't qualified to preach? I checked what a priest is in an online dictionary, and priest is one authorized to perform the sacred rites of a religion especially as a mediatory agent between humans and God. Isn't this what Jesus Christ supposed to have done? If so, then why's the Bible has it that he shouldn't be a priest? Does that mean that the Bible is contrary? Also, '...if he were on earth..."--why's "were" there"? Does the Bible has it that Jesus Christ never did come to earth as he supposedly have?

No ... not at all. Jesus was never a priest but the son of God or God in the flesh [human form]. This has nothing to do with Christ being authorized to preach. Moses, for example, was not a priest but spoke often to the nation of Israel concerning God's will for them. The role of a priest in Christ's time was that of the Jewish priests, which was to deal with animal sacrifices, etc. Then, there were the Pharisees - teachers of the Torah or Law. The Bible does have it right in claiming that Jesus was not in the role of a priest - He was much- much, more - a MEDIATOR for our collective sins, as an actual, living sacrifice or offering accepted by God the Father. You are reading too much into this, without checking the background for this statement or verse. Try reading the CONTEXT for this verse then, you will find the meaning.

No as you may know, when Jesus came he was not excepted as a "preist" he was a teacher who preached the word, but was not accepted by the Pharociesm, the preists of the time. Read the rest of the passage it will explain more.

Jesus came to be a servant to man and a sacrifice for the redemption of sin. He was to fulfill prophecy and a being a priest was not part of God's plan for Jesus.

no

Heb 8:4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:

its saying if jesus were living on earth he would not be a priest on earth since they already had priest.
jesus does the high priest duties in heaven not on earth.

no you are taking one verse out of context and applying your own meanings

verse 5 explains what it meant
Heb 8:5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.

the earthly priest did the things shadowed what is done in heaven

jesus is the high priest in heaven
