Does the 'keep me logged in' in facebook keeps me online in chat?

If I keep myself logged in, do my friends still see me as online even when I close the browser and disconnect from the internet?
 
No, not at all. Only when you are using Facebook are you online in the chatbox.
The "keep me logged in" is merely for saving your time whenever you log in, since you don't have to enter your username and password every time. That is all, other than that, you are not online unless you are actualy *using* Facebook.

No, it just prevents you from entering your password everytime you sign in on facebook
