Hi, I called Ingles, which is a grocery store, I had a interview maybe a month ago and then I called him a couple of times after and then last week/Friday I called him and he took my name and he said that he was going to check what he wrote on it, and then call me back. He never called me back, but I called back today and I said " Hi this is ________ and I called you Friday and He said "OH YEAH" The holiday is coming up and it's almost here, and it would be unfair to you to bring you in and it be so busy and he said," just give me til after the holiday and I will call you Friday" I said okay, thank you. So does that sound maybe promising? I hope I have been looking for a long while(1year). Yeah. Thank you guys so much! Happy Thanksgiving. :)
 
Stay optimistic. Everybody has been telling me that persistence is what it takes to stand out and get in these days. I would wait for his call on Friday, I think if you call any time before that it'll make you seem inconsiderate giving that he did request that you give him until Friday. If you don't get a call by all means call him back and don't be afraid to remind him. I think from what you have said, that your persistence is influencing them and if you keep at it, it'll keep your name fresh in their heads so even if they're not hiring at this moment your name is still out there for whenever they are. Good luck, I know how hard it is to get a job these days.
 
Unfortunately I don't think so. Usually they look to hire during the holidays and lay off afterwards. I was in a similar situation when I applied to shop rite last year. They said the sand thing to me, but had no problem hiring my friend who applied a couple of days after me.
