Does verizon have a phone warranty? and if so what is it?

I have no idea how it broke...but while at school the screen just broke while in my pocket. i really have no idea how that could have happened because i was wearing shorts and there was nothing pressed up against the screen to cause it to break. It's a chocolate touch. and i know the screens have been known to give out alot or so ive heard from alot of people. Is there a warranty for this phone?
 
Warranty doesnt cover physically broken items. Unless bad charger port or something that just happend. its only 1 year
verizon offers insurance for $4.99 monthly and $1.99 for extended warranty. but you have to purchase it when you buy a new phone.
