Don't get why he complains now?

My exbf and I broke up when I was 10 weeks pregnant. I'm 30 weeks now. I was due to have my last ultrasound on 4/9, he was supposed to go but he called on 4/7 to let me know that he couldn't make it because he had to work mandatory overtime. I didn't get upset. My bd was on 5/1, and he called me to wish me happy bd but also to complaint that I didn't call him to let him know the results of the u/s. I asked him why didn't he call me and he said that he did; I have no record of this call. Not even a message. So here I am listening at him for 50 min telling me that I should've called him and why didn't I think he cared (he took 3 weeks to call, plus needed an excuse before doing so; also he's seen me 3 or 4 times ever since and never said a word to me). His excuse was that he thought I was upset with him. I don't understand. He has no right to bitch at me for anything or complaint because I don't go out of my way to keep him informed of the pregnancy. He's 31 not 13.
What am I supposed to understand of this behavior? How am I supposed to handle it? I was very cool and calmed because I was having a great day on my bd but I don't get the baby behavior from him. He also made a couple of comments that let me know that he is listening to his mother and sister in law with whom I had dinner with on 4/17 because of things he said. I don't know what to do here. I'm finding it hard to deal with him and I don't know what am I going to do once she's here. I am very confused. I still care about him but I had given up on a relationship with him because I don't get him anymore. Do you think he's doing this because wanting to be a father or wanting to have something to do with me?
 
I think he wants something to do with you...he could easily be in the babies life, and ignore you completley. Why did you guys break up to begin with? yeah, it really sounds like hes trying to be a boyfriend without really...being a boyfriend. tell him "either your IN or your OUT, make up your mind"
 
look hun- just consider yourself lucky. My fiance left me right before my ultrasound. Never once called to see how it went, or if it was a boy or girl, and then I called him and practically begged him to look at the pics...he said he didnt want to. I had a birthday in march and he never called, I had real strong upper back pains and the docs were worried it was either my gallbladder or my lungs and put me in labor and delivery for a night, I called him sinmply for a ride...even if he dropped me off at the door of the hospital...his exact words were "F*** you" and hung up. Honestly I am jealous that your child has a fater who cares, I would give anything for my daughter to have a father who cares about her right now. Like I said I dont feel bad for you, he does have a right to ***** at you, its his child as well, just because hes not carrying it doesnt mean its not just as much his. I think your being really immature about this. You try being the person who does it all by herself and has no one but her family to share how the doctors appointments go etc.
 
I think maybe it has clicked that he is going to be a dad. But on the other hand, I think him blaming you for everything is actually him feeling guilty about not going.
 
It's going to be hard for a while .....trying to get along when both of you have feeling for each other. But good for you and him for trying to be there for the baby.
