Downloads from Android Market on Motorola Electrify?

I have been trying to download applications on my Motorola Electrify from the Android Market for the last week. Each time I select an app to download I get a message that says "Your Item will be downloaded", the download starts, and then nothing happens. I have searched forums to try and find a solution for this, but none of the suggestions have worked. Does anyone have any advice??
