I have been experiencing very scary dreams lately. For example, a male coming into my bedroom through my window at night to murder me. I physically struggle with a middle aged man and he is chooking me with his arm around my neck. I then continue to try to break lose and scream but i cant. No sound is coming out. I have no voice. I try hard to yell for help to my mom and sister in the next room but the scream is not loud enough to hear. I dont die in the dream, but I wake up scared. Then while awake I hear a loud scream by my hear inside my room...it was not a voice i recognized. I did sleep with my bedroom window open on that night. What is going on? What can this mean?

Dreams are heavily symbolic because that is the way the subconscious communicates. The feeling of being attacked and especially choked suggests that you are having very strong feelings of anxiety about something that is "suffocating" you. The open window could be an analogy of you feeling like you leave yourself open to this attack. Perhaps the subconscious is telling you to "close" this window-which could mean acceptance of something that is going on in yiur life, such as toleration of situation you are not comfortable with. Lastly, on occassion, I awake and hear a loud voice or something will call out my name and sound like it is right by my ear. That is because you are coming out of the sleep you were in and the sounds that were prevalent there into the real world and the sounds going on there. And sometimes our mind will make a loud sound heard to us as a way of jolting us back into reality. Hope I have helped you.
