OK - right at first I was feeling sorry for the driver, after all, he is rather young... that is until I found out some of the facts (blood alcohol level, admitting too drunk to drive, drugs) and that he is pleading NOT GUILTY!
Now, however, I am very sorry that he ruined his life, but the fact is that his actions led to this. EVERYBODY has heard that it is NOT SAFE to drive drunk, and that it is illegal!
My four year-old is currently learning that he doesn't get second chances... If he is told "no" and does it anyway, there will be consequences...
This is something that this young man should have learned 20 years ago! The fact is that he KILLED four people and seriously injured a child (whose mother he killed!).
What is your opinion on this story? On drunk drivers?
On a completely different note - I HATE that his name is Matthew Nathan - My sons are Matthew and Nathaniel (Nathan)... just don't like the negative association...
