Ok, we've had Verizon DSL for about 2 or 3 years now and it's always been lightning fast with me and my sister's computers plugged into it at once via ethernet cord. About a week or two ago, it got very slow... To the point of having to wait about 5 minutes for a web page to load. Well, I signed off and signed back in on my computer and it wouldn't even sign on now. It would get as far as telling me that the remote computer didn't respond. I restarted the DSL box, no luck. Then I left it off for about and hour then tried again, no luck. Then I decided to unplug my sister's computer from the DSL box and attempt signing on from my computer again, I was able to sign in and I had full speed back again! Then I plugged hers in and it slowed back down. So just to be sure I unplugged mine and signed on with hers, sure enough, hers was perfect without mine plugged in. We need this DSL for homeschooling and taking turns using it is getting really old. Please help me resolve this. It's really getting on my nerves, and my schoolwork is piling up on me. Any help is greatly appreciated!
I've resolved the problem! Thanks to Matt B. I discovered that both computers were using the same IP. After changing them, both computers now have full speed while they're both plugged in! Omg, *gasm*... K I'm good >_>
