no it's not dumb, he was an NWA and Dre associate from the 90's and he made a great album, I believe he was in a wreck of some sort that ruined his vocal chords and kinda ruined his career.

If you are talking about Doc, then it is the nickname for Dr. Dre (the doctor)
If you are talking about The D.O.C., he was a Dallas born, west coast based rapper in the late 80's who worked with Dr. Dre. He made a classic album in No One Can Do It Better but his vocal cords were damaged in a car accident shortly after. Recently, I heard that there is a surgery that The D.O.C. may do to get 70% of his voice back

tHA D.O.C he had a cd and a song called funky enough. It was tight syhne copied it. He co-wrote the cronic with snoop. He wrote some songs on cronic 2001 and he's writing on detox now. He went through a windshield and he talks all raspy and low he can't rap. He writes though.

He was the best rapper Dre ever produced, his career was cut short when he got his voice box f'ed up in a car wreck. He still ghostwrites for Dre, Cube and some others.
