Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook are considered two of the best players in the NBA. On Sunday night, they showed the world why. The pair of superstars for the Oklahoma City Thunder combined for 91 points as the Thunder toppled the Denver Nuggets by a final score of 124-118.
Durant had 51 points on 19-of-28 shooting from the floor. He was also 5-for-6 on three-pointers and 8-for-10 at the line. Westbrook had 40 points, while shooting 16-for-29 from the floor. Durant added eight rebounds, four steals and three assists, with Westbrook pitching in nine assists and four rebounds.
Oh, and Serge Ibaka wasn’t bad, either. The pogo stick of a bigman posted a triple-double of 14 points, 15 rebounds and 11 blocked shots.
The Nuggets got 27 points, seven rebounds and five assists from Arron Afflalo, and 21 points and ten assists off the bench from Andre Miller. But, thanks to Durant and Westbrook, it wasn’t enough on this night.
