Hey everyone!

I was given this comp to fix. Original owner said it was infected with some viri and to wipe it. So I'm like, cool a format will take 5 minutes. I popped my copy of Windows 7 Ultimate (dvd) in the bay and restarted the comp. Switched the boot device and waited for the magic to happen...it never did. For some reason it wont detect the DVD and will give the message No Boot Device Available. Seeing this problem I decided to pop my Windows XP (cd) in the bay and it booted just fine. So my guess is either the CMOS or the DVD function of the drive just isn't working x_x

I'm gonna reset the CMOS after posting this and continue to troubleshoot this. If it helps it's a Dell Inspiron 531 and the drive has no jumpers to set a master/slave setting.

Thanks in advance!
