I have a HP Pavilion m6 laptop, core i5 ivy processor and 8 gigs of ram running genuine Windows 8 Pro which I downloaded from Microsoft's website.
I have a weird problem. When I manually push the eject button on the DVD drive the tray doesn't open. Absolutely nothing happens. But when I right click on my DVD Drive (E: in my case) and select the Eject option the DVD tray opens up instantly.
I know there is nothing wrong with the DVD drive's Eject button because when my laptop is booting to windows I press it and the tray pops open instantly. For some reason it is non-responsive in the Windows 8 environment. I've already tried updating my DVD Ram's driver software. No luck.
Why am I having this problem? Why does the tray eject when I right click and press eject and not when I manually press the eject button especially when there is nothing wrong with the eject button.
