i bought my 5 dvds was a packet from coles supermarket in melbourne.

Make sure you buy disks from a good source as I have had faulty disks before from Ebay and my local Market.

Any shop should be ok, or a seller with good feedback for that product.

The pack of Kodak DVD R-W you bought is maybe incompatible with your DVD-CD drive. Go buy a new pack but this time make sure the pack has a PLUS sign between the R and the W , and not a minus sign. Some drives are [+] and [-] compatible, but there's still many drives still [+] only (mostly for PC) and some [-] only (mostly for Mac)
Check the outside of your new pack for this: DVD R+W

try and return the R-W for an exchange, at least try.

--Go to coles supermarket and try returning them. Buy the new ones from an electronics store, its usually cheaper... remember the R+W

First you can test to see if your CD drive is functioning properly by putting in a music cd to see if it plays. If not your drive is faulty. If that is not the case try using a different program. Windows has the ability to write to cd\dvds. To test this take a file you want to burn and right click it and choose the option "Send To" then choose the location of where your blank cd\dvd is. A window will pop up and give you a list of what your about to burn. Next, near the top of the window you see the "Burn to Disc" option. Click that to start the burn process. If it works then you might want a different program for burning or reinstall the one you are trying to use. If it still gives you an error try a different blank cd\dvd. Also make sure when you put a blank disc in that your computer recognizes it by clicking the "Start Menu" and then click "Computer" . It should say the type of disc that was inserted and how much free space is left. Good Luck!!!!
