I have a Dell Studio 15 computer with the optional slot cd drive because I heard that they were less likely to break. As of yesterday, with no trauma to speak of, when I try to insert a disc into the drive it takes it then makes loud clicking noises (kind of like the sound of something caught in a fan) then ejects the disc after a few seconds.
I've dismantled my computer as much as I was capable to see if there was something caught in the drive (dust, crumb, bug, etc.) but I was unable to get access to the drive area. I even (stupidly) stuck a very small screwdriver into the slot and moved it around. No effect.
My questions: Is there any way to access the slot drive to open it up and see whats inside on my computer? If no, is my only other option to take it to a professional?
Please help!
