Ear phone (bud) adaptor for motorola razr doesn't work.?

Bought the adapter on e-bay with female end and mini b for phone end. When I plug it into phone, can't hear mp3 in ear phones. Music just plays on phone's speakers. Why come?
don't know how to enable it on phone. the manual is too vague. and i can say why come!
 
Either the phones messed up, or the earpiece is crap.

Try another one at your cell phone providers store.
