A friend and I are going to the upcoming DragonCon in Atlanta Georgia and if possible I'd like to cosplay. I've been told it's kind of like a sci-fi convention(because before someone lied to me and told me it was an anime convention). The only problem is that I don't know too many sci-fi movies(or at least, I don't know what movies are considered sci-fi). The only movie that I can think of that's even remotely sci-fi is the 2011 movie Red Riding Hood.
Like I said before, I'd like to cosplay, but I don't have a lot of money because between the hotel and plane ticket, it's going to cost about $500. So what are some easy, cheapish cosplay?(I know I could buy a complete outfit for around $400, but again, I don't have that kind of cash)
My question is: Is Red Riding Hood Sci-fi? What are some movies that ARE Sci-fi? and does anyone know any easy cosplay?
Also, since I'm going to be getting on a plane, I can't have anything too bulky or 'suspicious' since I'm going to be getting on one. I'd hate to try and explain I'm just being nerdy for a convention XD
