when I turn its when I acceler? I have a 98 Toyota Tacoma/2 rear wheel drive/ with 164,000 miles.
Well, you know the sound it makes when your almost out of power steering fluid and you turn the wheel, kinda like a mechanical/electronic whine? WELL, it is making that when I accelerate NOT turn...it doesnt sound too bad but it definitely was not making this before. Fluid are all good so I dont know if its a bearing/clutch or what? Anyone have any ideas? Thank you!!

my 99 s 10 has been doing it sometimes,,,all fluids good,,new/rebuilt tranny,,,it just roars...sometimes...
look at belt,alternator,,,AC on/off?

is your truck manual shift? could be throwout bearing..[clutch release bearing] does noise come/go with clutch in/out.

A bad power steering pump will whine on acceleration, if water/or any other fluid (even just moisture) gets into the power steering reservoir it would cause it to whine.. only solution is to replace
