Ever travelled over the Raurimu Spiral in New Zealand ?

This remarkable piece of Engineering, is a veritable wonder. In a straight line; 1 mile. But on the Spiral, this is about 7 miles, or so. Have any of you had the opportunity of travelling over this route in the Central North Island ??
