Everytime i try to upload something on my PS3 it says "USB device is locked." i

checked like 50 times and...? it isnt locked. my PS3 also wont let me download,save,upload, or delete anything. it just says an error has occured or USB device is locked. what should i do. 10 points to the first reasonable answer. promise! HELP!
 
check the usb device their should be a little switch with the lock symbol make sure thats on unlock if thats not it i dont know
 
It has nothing to do with a switch or the save data (many people suggest that some saves are protected)
The problem is with the PS3 itself.
Sony botched the PS3 together from hardware they had developed & hardware they "borrowed" from elsewhere. The system software was written to work with Sony hardware & thus has many little glitches that cause errors.
This particular error only affected around .1% of USB sticks until an update in 2010 which made the error much more common now affecting around 10% of USB sticks (the larger the memory stick the more likely the error will affect it)

Unfortunately the only solution until Sony rewrite the system software correctly (not gonna happen) is to buy a new USB stick & pray :frown:
