To disable Press-to-Test mode through a computer:
If you choose to disable Press-to-Test mode through a computer, you must have TI-Nspire Computer Link software installed on your system. After installing TI-Nspire Computer Link:

Create a folder on your computer called “Press-to-Test”
In that folder, place an empty tns document called “Exit Test Mode”. This file is the only file that should be in that folder. Note: folder and file names are case-sensitive
Send this file to your connected device and you will exit Press-to-Test mode

Okay I got the above from the TI website. I have a TI-nspire which I unfortunately put into test mode. Now I can't get it out. The directions say to place an empty tns doc into the folder.

How the heck do you create an empty tns document?!

Please can anyone help me? I had the calc for like 5 min before I did this and now I'm resisting throwing it at a wall as hard as I can...

download the empty .tns document from the ti website. Its in the top left side of the page you found the directions on

I have been on the site multiple times yet I cant seem to find that empty .tns file if you could provide a screenshot or a printscreen that would be so helpful.

How to make a tns file

Its easier than u think. Open the program 'notepad' on your computer. Rename the file "Exit Test Mode" with the file extension ".tns". Save. And you have your tns file :) hope I helped
