The Atlanta Falcons aren’t always though of as a true Super Bowl contender. However, with a win Sunday night over the Dallas Cowboys, it has become impossible to ignore the 8-0 Falcons.
At halftime, the Falcons and Cowboys were tied 6-6 — with each team booting a pair of field goals. The turning point came when Michael Turner scored a touchdown early in the fourth quarter. The Falcons never trailed again and won by a final score of 19-13.
Turner did a lot of heavy lifting for Atlanta throughout the game. He finished with more than a hundred rushing yards to go along with his touchdown. Quarterback Matt Ryan 24-for-34 for 342 passing yards.
With the loss, the Cowboys dropped to 3-5 on the season. They trail the first place New York Giants by 2.5 games. The Falcons, on the other hand, already have a four-game lead in their division.
