I'm not talking about small appliances, pots, pans or stuff like that. I'm talking about a gadget you have that makes a job easier. Some examples I like are my cast iron lime juicer, a really good garlic press. I'm looking for more unusual gadgets that most common cooks may not know about. I'm looking for gift ideas. Thanks

"Bear Claws" - which are the absolute BEST salad servers (also good for pasta). I've given them to everyone for Christmas:) They're wooden and shaped like giant fork ends. You can usually find them on eBay (maybe search wood salad tongs)... Pampered Chef also makes a good jar opener. I have a little wire whisk that I use all the time, with a deep small metal bowl, to make glazes for cakes & cookies ... Williams Sonoma makes good sets of silicone rubber scrapers (spatulas) including a "spoonula" (a rubber scraper with an impression like a spoon bowl in it) ... Parchment paper is the absolute BEST thing to use for cookies. You didn't want a pot, but I have a large saucepan that has a lid that snaps on it; with tiny holes around a spout on one side; so you can drain pasta right from the pan....

digital led read temp probe is a very handy gadget to ensure all your meat products are cooked well inside.
