I had an interesting conversation with my parents today, and I thought I might ask ST a question:
Imagine your mom/dad just had a stroke at the age of 86. He/She lived a good, fulfilling life but is now totally unconscious. He/she is a brain-dead vegetable and can only survive (at most a few years) by being hooked up to a machine. He/She cannot move, talk or respond in any way to you. Care would cost around $10k-$15k. here's the question: would you keep him/her alive?
