...when if we take it in the context, we'll realise that the fish is a symbol for people in general, good and bad/saved and unsaved (see Mat chap. 13) ??
Besides, in the old testament there's a god called "dagon" (don't know his name in english) who is the "fish-god" whom sansam fought. The fish is an ancient pagan religions symbol and if we pay attention in the pope's miter we'll see that that's just a fish. And you know in the roman church almost every symbol is a pagan one!!
Some could argue Jesus did feed the multitude with fishes, but why should the fish then be a christian symbol because of that when christinity didn't even exist in that time and Jesus performed that miracle for jews??
