Fellow nontheists: Have you ever debated/discussed with a theist IRL?

If so, entertain me. I wanna hear stories... best one gets 10 points.

(I've never really had the experience of doing this myself)

Yes, many many times before. It is not a pleasant experience.

It is very lethargic and annoying.

I have a few times. What happened IRL is about the same IFL.
You know the garden variety of theist quarks, like being misinformed, arguments of equivocation, etc.
The one thing I have noticed IRL is it seems the theist don't persist in their argument as much.
Maybe when going face to face they stop sooner because they want to minimize how foolish they look, where as they will go the extra mile behind the anonymity of the internet.

It really depends on the context.

Some are really smug, self-righteous blowhards more interested in talking than listening, and the best you can do is poke fun at them to amuse an audience.

Some are really willing to discuss things openly; they often ask a lot of questions, so you need to know yourself to do this.

Some just put up a brick wall and tune you out entirely; these are the most infuriating. No matter what you say, it glances off like water off a duck's back. If you get in a conversation with one of these, don't waste your time, you'll only frustrate yourself.
