Im 17 and Ive just bought a 1.3 mjet grande punto as my first car but my mum whos just passed her test needs a car so my dad has offered to buy the punto off me for the same price I bought it AND buy me a older, cheaper (£2659) peugeot 107. I dont know wether to because I think the 107 is ok but somehow a but girly and more people have them as a first car. Opinions?
Insurance quoted on Punto:
£2900 p/y
Insurance quote of my mate with a 107 same age and street:
£2100
extra £800 but looks better? worth it?

Keep the Punto. A far better car in all aspects. The 107 has known issues, notably premature clutch failure, and fragile and expensive trim defects. The Fiat is a larger, stronger car, with a much more forgiving drivetrain, and is capable of being used on Motorways. The 107 gets blown about like buggery on dual carriageways, and I would not put any of my family in one.

Sounds lie a good idea as the Punto will likely cost a thousand or more a year for you to insure more than the Pug.
Also some informative BBC news reports concerning motor insurance for you below

Have u got insurance quotes on the Punto yet, its a better car but you may be shocked at how much it will be for 1.3 (I know that's a small engine but its still expensive). The 107 is okay, its a bit small but its kinda chic and better than most 17 year old will have.

The other thing to think of is passengers, your not gonna get many of your friends in the back of the 107, the leg room is tiny!!
