Alright I have played Final Fantasy X so many TIMES ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY yet I have never beaten it for I either somehow lost, ruined, or did something unbelievable with the memory or memory card. I gave up after beating Seymour Guado. I went to wiki and it says

Sin's cycle of rebirth ends, and the spirits of Spira's fayth are freed from their imprisonment, dispersing the pyreflies of the aeons, Dream Zanarkand, and Tidus in the process.

If I remember correctly those are something to do with their spirirts after a person or something living dies, am I correct. So my main question is, does Tidus die? I also saw this in wiki

--Tidus in the process. Afterward, in a speech to the citizens of Spira, Yuna resolves to help rebuild the world now that it is free of Sin. After the credits, there is a brief scene with Tidus underwater. He opens his eyes and begins swimming upward, and the screen fades to white. This scene segues into the sequel, Final Fantasy X-2, in which Yuna investigates Tidus' possible survival in order to continue their relationship.

Obviously it's now saying possible survival, well shit, I remember watching someone play the very beginning if X-2 and you were Yuna who no longer summons and you have that ninja girl with you Rikku I think, and last some other girl. I might be wrong it was so long ago.

Is he dead, or is he alive in the end? I'm dieing to find out for I was told a now obvious lie about them trying to escape in X and Yuna puts up a shield and he gets hit for she couldn't protect him in time and dies. I want to know what actually happens...

Tidus was a dream so after defeating sin the Fayth had to stop dreaming, so he disappeared in the end of FFX,however, in FFX-2(you don't play him, you just see some scenes of him) he may return back depending on your progress(there are several endings to that sequel). The good ending in FFX-2 states that he was sent back as a reward for helping getting rid of sin and that he was no longer a dream. On the other hand, Auron wasn't a dream he was killed by Yunalesca, that's when he ordered Kimarhi to look after Yuna and he started watching over Tidus ever since.

Well, Tidus was never alive in the first place, neither was Aauron. They both died when Sin swallowed them up. They were dead the whole time and just never realize it. Well, Aauron did but Tidus didn't. At the end of FFX they both jumped into some kind of spirit thing and they were gone forever. So yeah, Tidus did die, just at the beginning, not the end.

You find... something out when you get the true ending on 10-2.

It's not known if hes dead or not, but he does disappear.

He wasn't really alive to begin with though......
