First time buyer and Harley lover?

Ok, I've read all the first time-buyer all ready answer questions but none is appliable to me.

I'm a 32 yr old, 196 lb and 5.9 tall person that loves harley's bikes (fat boy) first timer on everything, never ride on one ........... I know I can't start with a Harley so what bike is better for me?
Ok, I've seen the Honda Shadow and I like it also the Kawasaki Vulcan, I'm guessing these bikes will be easy to trash in case off a drop (god forbid) than any Harley Sportster and cheaper.

On other note dyna also comes in fatbob do you still recommend it?
 
You can start with whatever feels comfortable to you including a Harley. I would suggest taking the MSF course and then either renting a softtail or going to one of the many harley free test drive days and seeing if any feel like a bike that you might like.
 
Try a sportster first.A little smaller but not so small for you and easier to learn on.
