Fish are different from mammals in that they are ectotherms. Which of the following statements best explains this term?

A. Their bodies are supported by exoskeletons.
B. They feed on echinoderms.
C. The environment controls their body temperature.
D. They prefer living in warm water.
 
"ecto" - outside
"therm" - heat

Ectotherms get their body heat from their environment.

So the answer is C.
