I'm a bit confused about the ending. I get the entire metaphor of the series (which is pretty much what the series is, it's just one big metaphor :P) but in the VERY end, *SPOILER* right after Naota had said Mamimi left for photography, 1 of the strings on Naota's bass guitar plucks itself (used to be Haruko's 'til she took the EB-0 and the Flying-V when she left Earth to search for Atomsk again). Why does it do that? Is it a symbol or something? There's a variety of possibilities that I think are possible, but I can't seem to figure it out.
I'm not quite sure there's supposed to be a meaning or if the director did that on purpose to make you think about it, and no one truly knows, but it's been bugging me for a bit and hopefully someone can explain.
