For Christians: What is your relationship with Christ like? How deep do you believe

that relationship should b? I believe that God wants a deep, personal, relationship. For instance, think of soulmates. Soulmates have the closest relationship, right? So that means that to me, God wants to be your soulmate.
No critisism please, just tell me what your view is.

the Lord wants us to give our lives to him and surrender to him completly. a soulmate I dont think is acurit term. your body is a temple. the Holy Spirit lives with in you. He has himself availble to you in the Eucharist. If your not catholic, please look up the Eucharist. I can barely make it through a day without reciveing it.; It is his literal body and blood. Over the centuries, even in todays times, it has turnd into live flesh and blood. it is always their, but the accents remain, while the substance changes. that is as close to the lord as you can get on earth. he gives himself to you, and when we eat that bread and drink from that cup, we are put at the foot of the cross.
 
He should be the central focus of our lives and we should live our lives to be pleasing to Him. He reminded us that His yoke is easy and His load is light.

First, you WILL get abusive, hurtful answers because Yahoo is 'the world' and in that 'world', there
are people who just exist to say things that 'get to' a person.
OK. Your question. I go by the bible in this. Now, the non-believing 'group' can have a lot of
what they call fun with this. It's LIKE a sexual relationship. Jesus said that we were to be
'in' Him, and He IN us. I think....that's just my opinion, but I think sex was partly meant to show
Christians what it was to be close to someone you love (obviously it could and is used for
a lot more than that!!). So, for me, it's 'growing in grace', and it's going to new levels in
a relationship. The bible says that the Father is the 'head' of Christ, that Christ is the 'head'
of the man, and the man is the 'head' of the woman, so it's like a transfer of energy and
power traveling all the way up, and all the way down. The relationship is also one where
we see what is missing (when and if we look at that), and then try to move toward that.
 
i know this sound weird but its kind of like a protective-older-brother relationship. like He'll help me out but i gotta meet Him halfway. and if im really really in a bad situation, i know i can count on Him to get me out

Dude I can't even begin to explain how much in love with Christ Jesus I am. Have you ever been in love? I have dude, and its pretty awesome theres nothing like the love of a woman. Its amazing when the two of you just feel like you always have to smile when you're around eachother. How when you're separated for to long, you feel like somethings wrong, somethings out of place. Well my relationship with Christ is like 1,000,000 times that. Everytime I think of him I just want to CRY! I want to cry soooooooo bad. Because there is nothing like Christ Jesus, nothing at all. Nothing nor no one can compare to that. When I feel like I haven't spent alot of time with Jesus I feel so lonely. Theres nothing like laying next to someone you're in love with. But even more than that, is feeling the presence of God. Hes not some guy off in the clouds who just wants me to worship him, dude hes my father, the love of my life, my provider, my heart, my soul. I totally give to him all that I have all that I am. I could go all of my life without family, wife or kids. I couldn't last two seconds feeling distant from God. I believe a relationship with God should go as far as possible. I constantly strive for more of God, and I always pray to him "give US(me, my friends, my family, the world) more of you and less of us. Keep us close to you and never let us fall astray." I can't drive and not think about God, I can't listen to music and be like "thats how I feel towards God" (like when I listen to Hoobstanks' The reason, or Life House's Everything, or P.O.D.'s Alive.) I wake up thinking about him, and fall asleep thinking about him. Christ seems to always be on my mind. I feel close to God. I think Elijah, and Enoch totally set the standard for how close we should be to God. Not that its a competition but come on, can you really call yourself a christian and want anything less? I can't, though I might end up with less because of me, I definitely would love to exist, and then be no more. I so badly want Elijah's annointing. God bless man! Love you christian bro! or Sis!
