For some reason my internet has been extremely slower than normal any one know why?

i just got hit by a hurricane(hurricane IKE) and all my power went out. the next day my power came on but my phone and internet didnt work. The day after my power came on my internet started up working but when i went on to use the internet it was very slower than normal for ex. when i went on youtube the video load speed became a lot slower
