Ford Fiesta 2009 - Engine belt makes a whining noise?

My new Ford Fiesta makes a whining noise, which is most noticeable when the car is idle. I noticed that this noise comes from the engine, and from the engine belt in particular...

Is that normal?

Has anybody else noticed this sound?
 
Car ain't new anymore. Most likely fan belt needs tightening. (or replacing) Let the Ford dealership mechanics have a look. A "quickee".
If you let it continue you will get to the point it becomes a severe squeal and then the belt breaks. Then other problems occur such as overheating and a dead battery.
 
get the car to your local ford main agent, if there is a problem your covered by the manufacturers warranty
