Our transit wont start unless by bump start. Have changed the glow plugs as these were knackered but still no joy. Once started it runs like a dream and does not cut out, there are no idle problems either. Can anyone give us a hint or two.
year is 2001 .

yes it is cranking
it bump starts immediately

my guess is make sure the fuse or the relay that makes the glow plugs work are working

either glow plugs are not in fact working ? ( have you tested them? ) so could be a power supply fault such as a faulty relay or possibly the Fuel enrichment is occurring.
quickest fix wil be garage with diagnostic equipment but do check glow get 'hot' . we should be able to remove at least one and keeping to pressed to a good earth point , turn on ignition to point where glow plugs are activated ( but no cranking occurs) being careful how you hold them as they DO get hot!. if they do not at least 'glow' red hot then this is probably the answer . if they do get hot , then look at fuelling issue.
